Hi there! We went strawberry picking a couple of days ago at Fruition Berry Farm just outside of Kingston. We had been trying to go forever but we kept getting rained out. The forecast called for rain all day, but we ended up getting lucky and had a beautiful evening picking strawberries with a gorgeous sunset. I think everyone else was also anticipating rain, because we ended up having the entire place essentially to ourselves! It was such an amazing way to get outside and start the long weekend. We got a huge bushel of strawberries that were absolutely delicious – melt in your mouth strawberries. The strawberry picking also includes a lovely tractor ride out to the picking fields, which really added to the experience. If you haven’t been, I would make sure to get out this week and pick some strawberries before the season is over! Or you can buy a pre-picked basket if you are looking for that local strawberry taste!
Tip: Make sure to wear your rubber boots in the strawberry fields as they can get muddy regardless of the weather!
On a side note, I am sitting on the floor writing this post surrounded by two sleeping poodles and a sleeping Ryan at 6pm – all signs of an amazing long weekend. We had such a great time at the cottage visiting family and running around all weekend. Quiet moments like this make me appreciate our lives and the adventures that we go on. I’m looking forward to a short upcoming week and some new adventures that we have planned! I hope you all had an amazing long weekend and feel relaxed going into next week.
