Hi there! About a year ago, I saw pictures of people running through sunflower fields and immediately added it to my bucket list. This year we patiently waited for the season to arrive again, but unfortunately had a lot of bad weather this year. Many sunflower farms told me that they had lost a lot of their crop or the crop was blooming very late.
We were a little bummed out that we might not have an opportunity this year to visit a sunflower field! However, last weekend, we saw that Kricklewood Farm was having an open house we knew we had to go check it out! If you didn’t get a chance to visit their sunflower farm, you can also buy their sunflower oil online or at local shops in the Kingston area!
We actually couldn’t find the field for a couple of minutes when we arrived because the plants were facing in the opposite direction and everything looked green. But as soon as we spotted the first sunflowers, we knew we were in for something special!
The entire field was filled with golden blooming sunflowers. They weren’t all in bloom yet, but it was enough to give you a big ‘wow’ effect. I have never been in a sunflower field before and it is truly something out of a fairytale. I’m pretty sure it is impossible to look at a sunflower and not feel happier and we were standing in a FIELD of them!
We waltzed around the fields for a while taking photos and enjoying the sunflowers. It was truly remarkable to look around and be neck deep in golden flowers! It makes me want to plant a garden of them in our future home one day and bring a little bit of the magic home with us!
Thank you for reading and following along with our adventures! Don’t forget to check out our adventures running through Lavender Fields earlier this summer here!
